I didn't understand what said either.

I wonder what the problem was?

The problem is that Bezos is not really committed. He sells 1 Billion in Amazon stock to fund Blue Origin every year. It's a hobby at best for him. And when you listen to their broadcast of launches, sometimes you get the feeling that it's more along the lines of an extravagant toy hen can brag to his rich friends and girlfriends about.

I get more of the feeling that even though they have piles of cash to burn, they're not focused enough. Trying to get humans flying on the old rocket, building engines for other companies, and trying to build a big, new rocket that flies perfectly the very first time is a lot to manage with only 3500 employees. Chasing too many rabbits.

SpaceX on the other hand seemed to focus pretty hard at first on the F9, and only once they got that working reliably have they started branching out.

I think them chasing rabbits is them looking for revenue streams. 3,500 employees would burn 25-45% of the 1 billion he funds them every year just in wages. Then you look at property taxes, facility upkeep and utilities, etc. and I'm surprised they're where they are now. I think he built New Shepard so that he could take a ride. He is putting it through it's paces, because he is scared, and he is telling everyone there is more to keep his employees there until he can go for his ride.

I've also said a few times that The Boring Company was created just so that Elon could get from Tesla/Spacex HQ to just past daily rush hour traffic. So far I haven't really been proven wrong... Either way, it's kinda the same mindset as Blue Origin. Get what they want out of the company, with minimal investment, and if it's able to actually become a thing, so be it.
