    As far as I can tell we launched our first spy satellite in 1960, while the USSR didn't get their first up until 1961, both of which jive with my feeling of where we were, space-race-wise.

    Sorry, I know it was meant to be sarcastic, but my literal brain couldn’t let it go. Using some online calculators, I got ~7.6x10^11 kg launched via rail gun per year, just to counteract drift, but that sounds a lot lower than I expected.

    Might be more effective to redirect a neo or two into the moon at a strategic point in its orbit. One came close yesterday(by close I mean ~ 2 million miles).
