He's smart enough to at least pretend it was though. Now at least. And if you think the engines that VERY few people will ever see was something, those engines are on booster 4 which will be taking ship 20 to orbit, if you know what I mean.

I don’t see it that way.

Whereas the govt might be risk adverse, they’re giving billions to private companies who are doing some pretty cool shit.

I used to think like this too. I look at it like this. The Army has been doing iq tests for 100+ years. If your IQ is too low, they won't accept you. They feel you're more likely to fuck up and help the enemy than to do your job correctly, no matter how much time they invest in training. I have personally seen these people. I've known a guy who worked for 29 years as a machinist at BOEING, and he was having to be shown things that a first year/month machinist would know. and this guy could talk normally, had a wife, kids, a bank account. If a couple of warning labels is all it takes for them to live normal lives without the need of a 24 hour babysitter I see it as a fair trade. It gives people the time to focus on other things, like building rockets. Or you could go full on Spartan on them. You'll have your work cut out for you there though. The number of people that fail to have an iq high enough for the army is 10%. So you can look at those 3.5 million with hate, disdain, and fear OR you can look at those warnings on things like subway sandwich wrappers warning you not to eat them and thank The Flying Spaghetti Monster that you had better luck in the genetic lottery and your life isn't as hard as it could be. I chose the latter, and I've been much happier ever since. I hardly notice things like don't drink the contents of this shampoo bottle, or that Mountain dew is just carbonated orange juice anymore.
