Probably one of the best launches I've ever seen living on the Space Coast since 09'. That was awesome.

If there was ever a mission where the space toilet breaking would be hilarious, it's this one.

Got an opinion? Let it be known.

Below the line is a cut and paste of an email from the FAA SpaceX Boca Chica Project Team

    ___________________

Subject: Notice of Availability, Notice of Public Comment Period, Notice of Public Hearing, and Request for Comment on the Draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment for the SpaceX Starship/Super Heavy Launch Vehicle Program at the SpaceX Boca Chica Launch Site in Cameron County, Texas

    Greetings,

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is announcing the availability of and requesting comment on the Draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) for the SpaceX Starship/Super Heavy Launch Vehicle Program at the SpaceX Boca Chica Launch Site in Cameron County, Texas (Draft PEA).

The FAA is evaluating SpaceX’s proposal to operate Starship/Super Heavy launch vehicles at its Boca Chica Launch Site, which would require the FAA to issue an experimental permit and/or a vehicle operator license. Issuing a permit or license is considered a Federal action subject to environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act. Under the Proposed Action, the FAA would issue an experimental permit(s) and/or a vehicle operator license to SpaceX, which would authorize SpaceX to operate Starship/Super Heavy launch vehicles at its Boca Chica Launch Site.

    Draft PEA
The Draft PEA is available on the FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation website:https://www.faa.gov/space/stakeholder_engagement/spacex_starship/

    Hardcopies
Hardcopies of the Draft PEA are also available for review at the following locations:

    • Brownsville Public Library, Main Branch located at 2600 Central Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78520
    • Brownsville Public Library, Southmost Branch located at 4320 Southmost Road, Brownsville, TX 78521
    • The Dancy Building County Judge Office located at 1100 E Monroe St, Suite 218, Brownsville, TX 78520

    Public Comments
The FAA invites interested agencies, organizations, Native American tribes, and members of the public to submit comments on all aspects of the Draft PEA. Public comments are due on Monday, October 18, 2021. Comments or questions on the Draft PEA can be addressed to Ms. Stacey Zee, SpaceX PEA, c/o ICF, 9300 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22031. Comments may also be submitted by email toSpaceXBocaChica@icf.com.
Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, be advised that your entire comment – including your personal identifying information – may be made publicly available at any time. While you can ask us in your comment to withhold from public review your personal identifying information, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
    Public Hearings
The FAA will hold two virtual public hearings to solicit comments from the public concerning the scope and content of the Draft PEA onOctober 6 and October 7, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. CST. Following the presentation, members of the public can provide oral comments.
The FAA invites all interested parties to attend the meeting. We will send out instructions for joining the meeting by October 4, 2021. Interested parties may also sign up to receive project updates on the PEA using the following link - https://www.faa.gov/space/stakeholder_engagement/spacex_starship/
    Please send any questions to:SpaceXBocaChica@icf.com.

    Thank You!

I forget which mission it was, maybe Apollo 8 or 10, but one of the crew was determined not to take a dump during the entire mission. Can’t remember how successful he was. (Info from the Chaikin book).

If it was me on a three day mission like I4, I would’ve prepped like I was getting a colonoscopy and be on a starvation diet throughout the mission :D

Bill Anders on Apollo 8, was on a low residue diet the whole time. Only downside was as soon as they got back on the carrier he was running to the nearest head. When the president called the astronauts shortly thereafter they had to pass a phone in to him

@PzTank Think you're thinking of Borman on Gemini 7. He made it 10? days at that that point Lovell was cheering him on. I can't imagine having to deal with #2 on Apollo but there you at least had some room to menuver. Gemini must have been a real pleasure for both the one going and your fellow astronaut.

I have Chaikin's on audible and listen to it at least once every couple months. Love that book.

I think it's "Apollo 8" by Jeffrey Kluger that has more background on Gemini 7 since Borman & Lovell were on both missions. Good read.

I wish there were more offerings on the less glamorous parts of space travel.

It’s been a while since I read up on the Apollo are (M,G & A programs) and like I said earlier, I’m getting old .

    Thanks for the recommendation
