Pretty much. All it really seems to have cost them was lawyers.

They seem to have been moving full steam ahead. They even built the launch tower before the environmental review was complete. They don't seem to be holding back or slowing down for anyone. Elon wants to get to space, not wait to see if he can make money on a government contract like Bozos.

I thought it was in reference to the HLS portion and that that portion was stalled. Other work gets done but none of that work. https://spacenews.com/blue-origin-suit-stops-work-on-nasa-hls-contract-with-spacex/

During his tour with everyday astronaut he was asked about various projects and components of starship and Elon's response was they weren't working on anything other than getting the rocket orbital. Everything else would slow that down, and much of it would have to change or be modified because they haven't solidified the design of the rocket yet.

As concerned as he is with efficiency I can see the value of that approach with his privately funded Starship work but the NASA HLS contract is a separate deal as is work on crew dragon and falcon 9/heavy. NASA voluntarily stopped “all work on the contract” in order to have all parties agree to an expedited settlement. I think Musk was just telling Bezos “Ignored” because “I wasn't going to work on that anyway” without ever Mentioning B**** or “that”. It’s just free gamesmanship. The delay in the contract was real enough as was the stoppage even if it was only a few months. Nobody has said what contract work was stopped whether it was just bean counters hashing out funding details or engineers discussing specs the rooms were empty of both NASA and Spacex personnel. Musk may even have thought that was dandy in this case. People at NASA didn’t seem to.

No worries. I should have put that in the trash talk thread instead of here anyway. I just couldn’t resist. I have no idea what team he rooted for if any in any case. You could use the Grinch and Max, Popeye and Bluto, Rocky and Bullwinkle, or Dudley and Nell for all I care. Plenty to choose from.

Absolutely understand the wanting to check the spacecraft but isn't it going to experience the same clamp release AND ride a vibrating rocket?
