I woke up to a text from a buddy that said "JWST launched and did blow up :headbang:". Talk about a fucked up typo to get your blood pressure up in the morning.

I was reading back through the December Astronomy article on, "How to Swallow a Star", and my mind was trying to wrap around the size of the Black Hole at the center of Sgr A*. Now I'm no quantum physics guy or math wizard by any stretch. Many of the subjects discussed in this magazine are way over my head, but I usually read it from cover to cover, even if I don't completely grasp everything. But the shear size of this behemoth is almost unbelievable.

On a side note, I really did enjoy all the photo's from January's issue. Too bad the limits of the human eye, and my meade lx 200 12 inch scope can't get me views like those.

    Clear Skies

Often the density (not the size) of some space objects is what impresses me the most. An average neutron star is a sphere the size of New York City ... but has 1.4 x the mass of the sun in which a million Earths could fit.

Let me add plasma to the list of mind boggling things in space. I think once we have more experience with it, it'll be a game changer regarding power in space.

Not that I have any facts or knowledge to back that up :D
