    For sure but they’ll be tested to the nth degree. I'm thinking someone skimped on the carbon fiber.... I wonder how damaged the Merlins were? Most if not all of the bell housings were dinged. Don't know how 'robust' they are in translating force up into the engine body.

    I can’t imagine they’d be anything but written off. Reusable assumes certain landing parameters. Examined and studied yes but reused no. But WTFDIK. It may have been a hard landing rather than skimping but that’s the job of failure analysis.

    The engine bells are soft and flexible. I've bent them by hand... They likely didn't prevent much if any damage. That said they likely didn't cause or transfer much energy/force into the engines either.
