As any block drops initially it generates forward momentum and can slide a fraction or just be too close to another by a fraction. If it slides enough then the overlap is slightly MORE THAN the difference between the diagonal and the long edge and the return wave gets hung up there. Block placement is critical, lack of overlap can be just as damming as too much. I expect they used a wooden block cut to the length of a block plus whatever as a jig. Probably took a few tries to figure out just how much more.

As we get closer to SLS launching I'm going to start sharing a few pics every couple days I've collected while working on it.

It's an easy mule to kick, I get that. But you won't hear me talk negatively about my time there. The men and women I worked around there were all consummate professionals and it was an absolute pleasure to see how they operate. 40 years from now I'll look back on it as the program that changed my life, in the best way possible.

For sure, not knocking you or the people working on it. Big government projects almost never have issues caused by the actual people doing the work or that care about it. I want to see that huge amazing thing fly at least a few times before it is obsolete and retired.

I wonder why SpaceX hasn't released anything on the EVA suits?

    Maybe? :notsure:

They've been pretty open about everything else. They will have to start pumping these suits out by the 100's to keep up with the flight schedule he WANTS to have.
