    It can't have. THIS is what freedom sounds like.

    Edit: apparently the first video was photo-realistic RC aircraft.

    THESE are the real deal.

    Like a month or so before all this insanity started they were already talking about the collapse of Roscosmos. Between the many issues they've had over the last few years, their ever decreasing budget, and more reliable, affordable options, it was looking like they weren't going to last another year. All this bolstering lately, is more propaganda than fact. Basically if he can make them seem more important than they are to the world and their own government Rogozin might save roscosmos, but most likely not, not for space anyways...

    Watching YT - yes, yes it did.

    And considering the SpX launch cadence, we’ll be hearing some more freedom next week.

    It's hard to describe what it feels like. Guys that have been around jets it's kinda similar. I was up against a metal building today so the sound/shock waves would hit the building, bounce off and almost knock you off balance.

    This is the closest way I've found to describe the sound of a rocket launch. You have to wear headphones, and it doesn't replicate the whole body feeling of the launch, but it does a decent job. https://youtu.be/ImoQqNyRL8Y

    And still quieter than an F-4.

    There was an air show in Portsmouth NH about 10-15 years ago. Didn't know it was going on until I saw an F-4 lumbering about 20 feet above the tree tops. Indelible memory. An awesome machine that must've been terrifying to hear from the other side.

    When I was a kid, we saw the Thunderbirds right before they switched over to the T-38s. The sound is indelible - it stays with you. Dad joked that they needed the white smoke to hide all their natural gray smoke.

    My first base was RF-4Cs, and they ran a 4-bird CAP every day. Rush hour traffic was always happy to see the Photo Phantoms lining up in the pattern. We were very sad to see them retire.

    Demanding equality- from this week’s Rocket Report:

    German feminists release gender-equality rocket design. A German feminist art group has revealed a vulva-shaped spaceship concept, Dezeen architectural magazine reports. The WBF Aeronautics group is encouraging the European Space Agency to help realize this design in order to better represent humanity in space and "restore gender equality to the cosmos." The group created the Vulva Spaceship concept to challenge the convention of, ahem, phallic spacecraft design.

    This is not The Onion ... "The project adds another dimension to the representation of humanity in space and is communicating to the world that anyone has a place in the universe, regardless of their genitalia," the organization said. Due to this optimized V-shape, the design guarantees maximum fuel efficiency, the artists said. For the project to be considered by the European Space Agency, it needs 500,000 signatures on the change.org website. As of Thursday afternoon, 663 people had signed. Just saw a tweet by the Russian ex pat guy saying NASA is considering returning Mark Vande Hei on a non Russian ship.

    He has the story behind a pay wall so I didn’t read it but a couple of scenarios I can think of- both regard AX-1:
    1) Drop a crew member anf give the seat to Mark or better yet;
    2) Add a fifth seat and give another huge F.U. to Russia.

    Any thoughts?
