Cool. It reminds me of a cross between space suits on an episode of Doctor Who and Elite: Dangerous.

These are in a very obscure and out of the way location ;) known as Operations and Support Building II (OSB II). I walked right past them and had to do a double take. No signage, no advertising. Just there.

These are controlled environment suits, aren’t they? Not for EVA.

Yes. I am talking about the eventual moon suits that seem to be taking just as much money as SLS but not delivered yet.

I can’t imagine they’d be that much less bulky than the current iteration. Maybe with a bit more mobility. Struggling with environmental control must be like dealing with a gravity well, it is what it is. If it weren’t so extreme it would require less effort.

Correct me if I'm wrong on the following:

*Crew Dragon can carry up to 6 (7 in a pinch)?
*STS never swapped more than three expedition crew at a time
*The station isn't really equipped to handle >10 long term residents?

So no real need to send up more than 4 on dragon at a time for rotation purposes, yes?

And while us peons would be ok with being sardined with 4 or 5 others for a few days of weightlessness, someone paying ~50mil for a seat isn't going to be as keen on it (I suspect)

There was a guy here a while ago who was stationed at Vandenberg. I searched the thread and he seems to have disappeared (I think)…

If you’re still around, could you please send me a DM?

    Thanks for considering :hattip:
