True, but at this point, SLS is "to big to fail". It will have to complete AT LEAST 1 mission, or the whole 4 gazillion they've spent is wasted.

Starliner is fueling this week so depending on how the sample looks May 19th is doable.

No such thing in this business. A record I’d rather not see set with this program.

It will definitely be Starliner. Starship, while incredibly innovative and progress at light speed comparatively, has yet to even lift a cargo second stage to orbit and isn't even FAA legal yet.

Certainly seems the FAA is doing it’s best to ensure this by forcing Spacex into slower pace and alter its strategy.

I'm old enough to remember when Dragon and Starliner were "neck and neck". Since then Spacex has surpassed them 4 times. While you're technically right, once the reigns are off Spacex is going to be pushing starship HARD with starlink. Starliner is going to do another demo mission "soon". As that is a consumable rocket, the question becomes, have they started building the next one that they'll need for people assuming the demo works. Odds are in favor of Starliner, but only just.

    I'm not that young!

I'm still hopeful that Starship will beat SLS to space. But mainly because I am a SpaceX fanboi. I just only really see SLS and Starliner completing the missions they have contracted now and Congress not authorizing any future missions.

I like the fact that Crew Dragon is going on it’s 6th manned flight and has 2 others planned for this year.

As for the FAA hobbling SpX, they’ve repeatedly said it’s for additional time to respond to comments made during the finite comment period. They cannot be kicking the can down the road indefinitely.

Texas wants to be home of the Marsport and is already applying pressure.

Starliner and SLS will become obsolete in a few years if they ever get flying in the first place.

Don't discount that it is Congress that has repeatedly mandated & funded SLS because contractors (i.e. constituents) are all over the country. Plus NASA is legally required to launch Europa Clipper on SLS...

And repeatedly pushed it back again and again rather than state a date and stick to it. It’s not the delay, it’s the lack of honesty regarding the time frame. They just keep adding 1 more month a week or so before the next due date. Nobody knows what the heck they really mean besides”not yet”.

They stream their launches from Mahia so I would think they’d do the same from Wallops.

I’d love to know if they will attempt to catch it from Wallops?
