Might be old news but did you guys know that our Sun is growing? It will eventually (billions of years) become a Red Giant. Just thought it was a pretty interesting fact

Fortunately, my son, who is a freshman in HS, is good at both. He went to HS for math his 7th and 8th grade years so he was way ahead of the game when he went to HS this year. His school has an amazing science and engineering dept. I was blown away when I took a tour of the school. He also happens to be the starting running back on the freshman football team. We had our end of season dinner last night and he was awarded MVP for offense and at the end of the awards was brought back up on stage for another award for academics (he was the only one who got this award). The cool things is, he's already enrolled at two colleges and getting college credit without stepping foot on their campuses. Sorry, just a proud dad I guess

Don't be sorry at all! Those qualities are definitely something to be proud of, especially for a father. Your son is building the foundation of what will hopefully be a very successful and prosperous career no matter what he does, and as a father that has to be exciting to watch develop.

That's awesome man! Be proud...remember he is a product of his environment and you have obviously given him one to flourish in. My daughter is 8 and loves science, geography, and history. She can tell you what almost any countries flag looks like. I don't know how or why she can she just knows. I buy her 2 flag patches on Amazon each month of her choosing. This month it's Ireland and Turkey. We have a huge cork board in her room with all her flags on it. I sometimes catch her looking at it and I wonder what she is thinking? She wants to know how everything works and I want to teach her.

I told her the most important thing that she can ever learn is mathematics. Math is the universal language. 2+2 will always =4 no matter what language you speak. Math can take you anywhere and everywhere. The other subjects are very important but in my personal opinion math is the most important. It ties everything together such as science, chemistry, etc...
