Not looking like that will happen until SLS launches.

Roll out for WDR is still slated for 5/26 as of this am. They are pushing hard but sounds like Air Liquide the GN2 supplier can't get their facility back completely online. If the Orion(SLS) orbiter goes 24 hours without a gn2 or helium purge it risks being decertified for flight. So they are purging from tube banks or in some cases k bottles but sub-optimal situation.
The article linked about Nasa's concerns about Starship are very problematic for X. They are saying it will launch from 39A is only semantics, I would actually call it 39D, as 39B already had a secondary pad inside the perimeter and now so does 39A. I haven't been by there in more than a month but it is not the traditional pad surface that you've seen shuttle launch from. Fast forward a year and say Starship is ready to be launched from there.

A catastrophic anomaly like what happened at slc 40 eliminates your Starship platform but also your tried and true Space Station elevator Dragon. That puts Nasa in a very bad spot.

I've shared with you guys before that my discussions with a mech engineer with United Space Alliance(Shuttle) experience, SpaceX launch team engineer,SLS hypers lead, etc basically a guy with close to 40 years experience launching rockets is convinced that launching Starship from KSC anywhere much less 39A(D) will be very damaging to local communities. He says-its all a very simple calculation. More capacity and propellant means more vibrations and potentially shattered glass/structural issues across the Space Coast. And that's IF its successful. If it's not ^I've detailed those possibilities in the last post.

Think it’d be possible to get away with launching from anywhere out on CCSFS?
And I’d wonder what sort of data they have from static fire tests that they could extrapolate from. At some point, we have to scale up, and east-facing coastal property ain’t getting any cheaper. Might make the oil rigs a smart investment pretty quickly.

I think Bezos ought to get a few more launches under his belt before trying to take over the world.

    just saying…

How many window-shattering starship launches before SpaceX can put in an eminent domain claim?

Oh. I didn't realize that happened at 40.

Didn't several Saturn 1 rockets blow up down there?

That's in direct contradiction with SpaceX's acoustic modeling per their EA, which shows it as slightly larger than their FH footprint.

Remember, it's a point source and the inverse square law still applies. That and it's not throwing THAT much mass out the rear end - roughly double a Saturn V.

He'll correct me if I'm wrong but I think the concern is about the earth-shattering kaboom of a Starship RUD.

I'm just going to pretend that you didn't say that, because SpaceX is perfect and there won't be a single Starship failure ever!

Given the nature of things it probably will happen. Fewer opportunities but SLS could suffer a catastrophic ground failure too and both would make a bigger boom than Saturn V. Up to NASA to find or acquire a better site(or enlarge an existing one) if necessary since eminent domain isn’t an option for a commercial enterprise.
