Two for the Vulcan. I can’t recall other applications.

Agreed. At this point it’s almost criminal to not design new boosters for recovery and reuse.

It takes generations for the benefits of recycling to sink in. Seems obvious but still stuff gets casually tossed. “Too much effort or bother” now means even more effort later to clean it up not to mention the value lost. I’m certainly glad that it’s finally soaking in and moving up the chain of design complexity.

I really think there’s going to be a big shuffle in the market within the next 5-10 years, when all of the existing launch contracts on expendable boosters expire, and it’s 10-100x the cost to launch on anything that’s not Starship, Neutron, or maaaaaaybe Vulcan (once they figure out their engine-jettison strategy). Shareholders (and hopefully taxpayers) are going to object to throwing that much money away on a single-use rocket, when it’s so much cheaper to hop on a reflight.

Electron is a very small rocket and their boost stages, though creative and efficient, are equally small.

Like you said, there’s no rush to get there and the orbit isn’t gonna be your typical Apollo era orbit.

Groundbreaking for sure! I hope all mission objectives are met :rocket::oldglory::thumbsup:

I hope it works, so we can actually get Gateway a reality.

I wonder what the orbital burns will be like for future missions to meet Gateway at its NRH orbit?

Eliminating propellant as payload saves on a exponential scale so getting there “slow boat” style makes literally tons of sense.
