We have a waterfront lot here on the bayou. Plan is to build on it someday and retire. But I've been thinking about selling it and buying acreage just north of the bay. :notsure:

Not quite. Total lunar eclipses happen relatively often. This one just happens to coincide with the moon cycle that is closest to earth. It will appear a little bit larger.

I thought when a super moon combined with lunar eclipse, was called a "total lunar eclipse". And that the last time was 32 years ago.. That's wrong?

Guess could call it "super harvest blood moon total lunar eclipse".

\/This Eclipse\/ As per National Geographic and NASA.

"This confluence has happened only five times since 1900. According to NASA, the last time we saw this celestial triple combination was in 1982, and it won’t repeat until 2033."

"Everyone with clear skies across the Americas will have a front-row seat Sunday night to a rare total eclipse of the super-harvest moon."

A total lunar eclipse is when the entire moon is covered by Earth's shadow

Yes, the news makes it seem more interesting than it is. They're taking an eclipse, charting it against the closest cycle of the moon, which makes it legitimately interesting I suppose, then saying it's extra special because it the full moon closest to the Equinox, which has no relevance whatsoever unless you're a Druid or something. They could have cross-checked it against Sundays and made it even more rare. Or Sundays in September when the Cardinals lose at home, or whatever other statistic they want to throw around.

I don't watch the news or TV, and that's one of the reasons why.
