How will the gateway station be sent? Northrop Grumman is apparently making it. We’re they planning on SLS to get the modules up there or is there no real plan in place?

 

Falcon Heavy and SLS Block 1B are the two current vehicles planned to put the Gateway hardware in orbit.

 

Just watched a whole string of satellites pass over while sitting by the river. My friends can't quite understand it...

They are having a ship built by the same company who did the SpaceX ships.

I'd guess it's just the cost/benefit analysis of having a purpose built ship was preferable compared to a modified ship.

What’s really funny is that neither Vyger would have traveled all that far in the centuries between launch and the first Star Trek movie timeline.

The movie left a lot to be desired and plausibility wasn’t even the worst casualty.

 

As an aging treky I hate to admit it but the latest crop featuring Chris Pine as Kirk have been better on the whole although Wrath of Kahn and Undiscovered Country had their moments. They were never able to recapture the humor cloaked in seriousness that was a hallmark of those times(60’s). Just bad jokes more reminiscent of Roger Moore’s Bond films. I never really looked at the series or the science behind it in earnest probably because there was little basis to do so as there has been in more serious romps in sci-fi. It’s difficult to take a notion and say “what if” and have a story be internally consistent but the best story tellers have that knack. The great ones manage to populate them with characters that are as well, giving the whole an intrinsic integrity that is much more compelling than the average.
And now back to our regular scheduled “I want more static fire tests”.

I saw the other day that there’s a third set of mechazilla base mounts at Robert’s Rd. any guesses as to where they might be planted? Space Force pad(CCSFS)? Oil Rig platform or a larger vessel similar to the Glomar Explorer for more mobility?
