Note it says “a facility” rather than “the facility”. Sounds like it’s to add to an existing production capability. Now it’s on BO to keep up with demand. We’ll, they asked for it, time to put up …

I didnt see Tetra 1 when I was at their Payload facility Friday, but I might've seen other satellites.

    There's no telling honestly.

X has quality support around the clock, they wouldnt hesitate to initiate a roll back at an odd hour like 2200, when others would save that work for the more experienced 1st shifters.
I was at the place that they would be mating the fairings around the payload on Friday morning and I didn't see that happening and I was in all of their bays. Doesn't mean its not happening right now. X does things in a couple days that it takes others weeks and weeks....

The fact that it's a USSF payload, make me not surprised you didn't see it yesterday.

Not sure what that's supposed to mean, X processes classified payloads at the same facility. It's on the Air Force side.

    Polite version.
I’m curious how they ended up with a 9m dia. for Starship. In terms of mass/volume ratio short/wide is better with a sphere being optimal. Even 1m wider would allow it to be 19% shorter keeping the same volume and 9% less surface area. Wider means less heating on reentry and more space between engines for shielding. Lighter means less fuel at launch saving even more on body mass. Lower terminal velocity and lower mass means less fuel needed for retro burns saving yet more weight. Drag is definitely a thing but looking at Artemis, F9H, Soyuz, and the rest that use strap ons it doesn’t seem to be an overriding concern.

The original BFS design was for a 12m diameter, but I think they had to make it smaller just so they could figure out how to build the thing first. Musk has said that Starship 2.0 will be 12m.

Well, he better stop getting distracted by this Twitter BS and just get the Starship flying.

Too much to hope for. In the end though it’s probably a good thing his mouth provides a check on his ego.
