While I wouldn't put it past some to actually try to fake something like that, there were far, far, far too many people involved for a secret like that to be kept at all, much less for over 50 years.

There really are a lot of tin foil hats being worn out there! lol

They obviously needed to go for realism so they put the set on the moon, duh.

I think that’s the benefit of a helicopter. Spins the dust right off!

I know that Ingenuity has been used to clean the dust off of Perseverance's solar panels, and I think the Ingenuity rotor blades have a deeper/sharper (?) angle to catch more atmosphere.

Except the panel is above the rotor.

I hope it makes it through the winter.

Perseverance is RTG powered, not solar.

Probably still creates a vortex. Edit- maybe not a vortex since they counter rotate but certainly air movement and vibration. Maybe the dust just isn’t as sticky or electrostatic as lunar regolith. The atmosphere is thin but very deep so the surface isn’t constantly bombarded with charged particles.

I thought they spun w the rotors?

Even if they don’t, wouldn’t flying shake some of the dust off?

I don’t think so, they’re obviously counter rotating but maybe the second idea is enough?
