    Just lucky I guess. One would think that this would highlight the desirability of having hardware on standby for an emergency extraction even if they were to cycle through that stand by to keep the hardware refreshed. This time it was the capsule but at any time it could be a station or outpost.

    I guess it depends on how fast they were going. It takes 225,000,000 years for one revolution of the Milky Way. They might only just be commingled still. one revolution of the milky way

    Finally got my eyes on Orion, she looks pretty good all things considered. Heat shield will be dropped, propellant off loaded in the months to come and then she will be shipped to Langley research center for further testing.

    Agreed I've found a nice little honey hole I don't plan on leaving any time soon.
    Today was an observation day at MPPF where Orion is, usually that is a class I div 2 bay only, no cells, no smart watches but they relaxed it for the viewing opp. I conviently timed some monthly inspections so I was able to walk around "inside the ropes" whereas other KSC staff was cordoned off into one little corner.

    I think it was that static fart back in July? that got their attention. NASA certainly noticed it. The contract may have given NASA a bit more weight in their conversations. Pops and booms on an empty slab were entertaining but couldn’t really set back progress the way it did to the OLM.
