Did it ever get a full load of both methane and O2?
Answer: yes it did but there were a couple HUGE methane plumes from the booster after it filled. Not sure if that was part of the plan.

Grant seems small.
Way cool. Would they leverage the increased velocity to leave Earth a bit prior to opposition? Trying to visualize the mechanics but after opposition the Earth will be passed Mars and the distance increasing even as the return flight is in boost phase so you’d want to complete that boost before then. On the way out Earth is catching up so the boost is added to the orbital closure so leaving Earth earlier adds to transit time but also increases the time on Mars. Short version: mission takes place in a window that closes at opposition but doesn’t require a 2-year stay. A slow boat doesn’t allow for a short visit since you’d have to leave before you can even arrive.
How do they resupply with inert gas for the return trip?
