Yay, can’t wait to get home and watch this. Sounds like a win at any level. Now to see what happened and fix stuff and get ready again.

So cool. Still a brown cloud so I expect there’s some more demo ahead but if so the SF probably gave them a head start on breaking the slab to install the new deluge plumbing.

So next week is S25 static fires and maybe a few new engines for B7? If they’re going to dig things up for the new deluge system I guess they motor B7 out of the way and the weather back to production for the engine swaps? I wonder how much of the testing they’ll transfer to Massey. In order to certify both new boosters and ships it seems it would help to be able to go beyond just tank crush and cryo testing to include full ship cryo(but not booster cryo) as well with maybe even a bay for engine install.

All of this motoring around with boosters and ships is one of the main reasons I tend to think they might end up with an international site at some point. Maybe French Guyana or someplace with the room to organize the distances between production, testing, and launches in a more ideal way. They’ve barely begun at Starbase and it’s already apparent that things could be better even if they weren’t limited on road closures. ATM they can’t expand launch facilities there which means KSC is the next most viable option but it wouldn’t surprise me to see those 3rd tower segments loaded on a barge for parts unknown. I don’t expect that immediately but he hates being hemmed in by regulations and red tape. Pure speculation but would he consider getting into bed with a country such as Nicaragua that has both Pacific and Atlantic coasts in close proximity?

I wonder what ITAR would have to say about that, though. There’s still technologies they have to blur or not film when Tim does walk through interviews with Elon, I can’t imagine the US Gov would look kindly on them taking manufacture or test infrastructure out of the states. Maaaaaaybe launch. Maaaaaybe.

We’ll see I guess. Launches happen elsewhere already. If Mars is to happen a spaceport purpose designed to handle the task will be as essential as the rockets that go there. Nothing we’ve ever done comes even close to the volume either in mass or cadence. Even the current pace of F9 launches is miniscule in comparison. We’ll need “Heathrow” and we have LaGuardia.
