The uncropped video of NSF's van &
(& Tim Dodd's gear) getting pummeled is impressive. Plus the Everyday Astronaut crew getting showered with sand post launch was crazy! Cannot wait to see HD images of the complex

I wonder how the plumbing underneath held up to that ejecta, not to mention the tank farm. Looks like a cleanup day or 3 might be in order.
Good news is it probably saved several days work digging up concrete to install the new deluge plumbing.

Odds that eventually there is a flame trench in addition to a deluge system?

Might be below water table at that point but as is the exhaust was split 6-ways. It might take a complete redesign of the OLM base to cram all the exhaust into one trench. Lots to unpack before running off in all directions. Inadequate thrust meant it was blasting away longer than planned but at a guess it sure looks like it needs a tad of something.

Most definitely. I was expecting the button to get pushed much sooner than it did.

I kinda wish they'd lit off stage 2 anyways, just to see what would happen.

I don't know if it is battery operated or hydraulic operated. But with the HPU exploding at about +30 seconds, that is why the crazy trajectory and if the hooks were hydraulic, then that could have been why stage sep didn't happen.

I’m thinking if the booster interstage crumpled a bit, Starship prolly couldn’t detach as designed.

Agreed. What happened to that picture earlier in the thread showing that? It's gone.

Been explaining to people today why this was a big success. Every second of the launch was more data to compare to their simulation models and correct them if needed. Even just clearing the pad was huge. RIP NasaSpaceFlight's van
