For both of you, I read an estimation somewhere (maybe the Twitter thread @PzTank posted?) that it could take up to 100 successful launches of Starship to orbit or beyond for Starship to become crew launch rated.

I doubt it. I think the deluge will work just fine.

    Re: human rating Starship:

I think it’s going to be as unique to the ship as the ship is.

In order to meet the lunar landing goal, it’ll be crew rated for in space ops before it’s rated for launch and re-entry through the atmosphere.

That may be one requirement but not the only one. I’m of the opinion it won’t happen until it’s the obviously better choice. I just don’t see it until crew sizes necessitate it. That means larger stations as destinations and those are that 8-10 years away I mentioned.

Let’s just see if they can all get together & standardize docking ports. Let’s not relive an Apple/Android thing.

    WATCH LIVE: ESA EUCLID MISSION

SpaceX is targeting Saturday, July 1 for Falcon 9’s launch of the ESA Euclid mission to a Sun-Earth L2 transfer orbit, also known as the Sun-Earth Lagrange point 2, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Liftoff is targeted for 11:12 a.m. ET (15:12 UTC). If needed, a backup opportunity is available Sunday, July 2 at the same time.

The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched Ax-2. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

You can watch the live launch webcast starting about 15 minutes before liftoff

I’d heard they lost contact but assumed it was a permanent thing. More pictures of places we can’t afford to retrieve samples from.

If they were to stick with NASA's necessities id say your estimations are correct, but Spacex needs to make money. With each Starship being 1-3X the volume of the ISS, I have no doubt that they will dock several of them together and create a private commercial space station of their own in 2-5 years. And that's in addition to the fact that Nasa is already talking to Spacex about a Starship space station. https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/...orate-with-nasa-to-advance-space-capabilities

That’s not a funded project. Just an idea that would get willing NASA support but only in free consultation services. It’s true they can put the ships up there but I doubt they’ll do it unless somebody else foots the bill and even if they did it a start up experimental station isn’t going to fund much. They have other priorities and ways to make money both on funded NASA projects, rideshares, and Starlink.

Still a go w under 10 minutes left.

The first F9 mission to L2.

Cool trajectory- the SES-2 burn to escape velocity was wild to see on the ground track .. Altitude just kept getting higher and higher and higher and…
