3 months 4 days to repair and upgrade the base. All the arm chair engineers said it couldn't be done in less than 6 months. Can't wait to see the next launch. What ever happens will be epic.

 

Elon knew what he was doing. Launching the rocket got it out of the way. There was already talk in the community that they were going to scrap it because it was using already obsolete hardware. That would have required shutting down the highway to move it to the rocket garden, which people are already complaining about. And then employee time to cut it down. Aint no body got time for that. Then you have the problem of all that concrete they poured under the mount. That would have had to have been excavated and trucked off so they could drill piles. That would have taken forever. Just launch the rocket and all those problems are solved with minimal effort on all fronts! Probably would have taken em the 6 months had they done it that way!!

 

I’m thinking with that much water turning to steam, views of the liftoff to say 20,000 AGL are gonna be obscured

 

Maybe this time it’s for real. There are so many things like this we assume are either impossible or unrealistic to implement but with a better understanding of alternative choices suddenly they could be within our grasp. Cheat codes.

Common ingredients, known and unsophisticated processes. Finding a different way to achieve a result. Needs peer review but that is the essence of science, achieving repeatable results.

 

It’s exciting but still a low current material. The fact that it starts out as a poor conductor is mind boggling. But that’s the point, they aren’t looking for a traditional form of conductivity.
