I could be wrong but I think it’s for the IM-1 mission with the Nova-C lander. The actual equipment wasn’t specified, only that it was at 39-A so that mission had to use that pad. Super chillers came to mind as that’s how they cram in max fuel loads. If they miss the launch window for it it’s a month delay for the next window but the crew launch has priority.

I get chills thinking about how those trips must have felt. Hard to imagine that someday it may be commonplace.

It’s my understanding that it can.
The cargo version fits in the 5-meter fairing and the fixed wing crew version won’t launch with a fairing due to abort constraints.

I wonder if the crew certification time for DC would be less or any different for F9 than Vulcan since they launch more frequently and the rocket is already certified.

 

The Dragon capsule had the abort test and an unmanned test flight…. I would think the same would be required for Dreamchaser.

Re: the rocket, does the F9 have the capacity to accommodate the Dreamchaser? If it doesn’t, EM’s on the record they wouldn’t want to man rate the FH.
