Anyone take a peak at Jupiter this morning?

The 4 moons were just to the side in the shape of a trapezium. Pretty cool beans.

 

I wish... Too much light pollution where I live to enjoy such things. Always loved stargazing, unfortunately the last time I was able to actually do it was in Utah back in June of 2016.

 

If you have a pair of binoculars you can view Jupiter, even with bad light. The reason I say that is because Jupiter is best viewed just before the sun rises. When the sky starts to turn that light blue. For some great reason, the “light blue” sky acts as a filter. I’ve tried viewing Jupiter during the evening, but the light coming from it is too strong. Even with filters. It’s still viewable, but when I caught Jupiter right as the sun was rising, “Wow.” The entire planet becomes clear and the contrast is perfect.

This helps. I noticed “seeing” had dark blue shades. I quickly grabbed the scope before work and was just utterly blown away at how the 4 moons were in an almost perfect trapezium. Too damn cool.
