I saw that. A logical progression given their stated desire for global fast transport. One helluva halo drop if you ask me. Great for aid but seems a bit on the vulnerable side.

I wonder if they borrowed the fee structure from time shares.

COMPLETE spitball but ~50#/day/person in consumables?

    Waste management
    Water
    O2
Food? (I'd assume they come with their own contingency supply for multiple days)

I wonder if they’ll wait until OLM/OLT 2 is up before trying a catch? Honestly I think they’d want 3 sets by then with another on the way at KSC. Work out the kinks with this one then have it be the one at risk unless a site at KSC is somehow preferable though I can’t imagine NASA thinking that. Another thought though maybe unlikely is a short tower built only for testing catches that doesn’t need any of the launch hardware so no cryo storage, pumps, OLM, QD arm, or height for stacking, just maybe 1/2 the segments and the chopsticks. Early ships/boosters will probably need at least some refurbishment so it might get continued use for some time.

    A bit behind with these:

STS-122 has the distinction of being the only Shuttle launch I saw in person.

It had been delayed a couple of times and came close to launching on my b-day. The trip was a gift from my wife:

Way cool but it’s not like he could slip and fall out of orbit. Plenty of other risks but not that one.

I had to work through it to realize that “in orbit” means he’s basically stuck there and falling isn’t even an option.

Here's an old article. With these prices, I imagine Axiom Space has the cost of a few extra days built into how much they pay NASA.

https://spacenews.com/nasa-increase...s between, disposing cargo on those spacecraft.
