Anybody heard of Dr. Royal Raymond Rife?

Couldn't find the documentary I'd watched a year or so ago.. But the man was a genius of many fields. Worth looking into.

As you might imagine, it aint cheap. Total cost was around $6,000 including eye pieces/accessories. The Evo's, 8" and 9.25 have been pretty sweet to use and experience the cosmos. If you don't want to spend that much money, or just get by with something good, I would recommend the 8" NexStar Evolution with Delos eye pieces.

Without a doubt it's a very cool hobby and well worth it. Not too long ago, we got to see Jupiter in all its glory. Usually, Jupiter's light is jarring and one needs filters or early morning observations to be able to see it comfortably for those of you who are familiar with this observation. But on this particular morning, the atmosphere was stable and we observed Jupiter in awe for about 20 minutes. It was spectacular. Colors, swirls ala Van Goghisc, the GRS with a swirl around it. I thought Saturn was awesome. But after that morning, Jupiter reigns supreme in our Solar System.

That Cat is packed! I’d like to take up Astro photography someday.

Having any luck with Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars observations? I was finally able to see Mars as “something” and not just a ball of light. We were able to see dark areas. Pretty cool.

I was able to get a shot of Jupiter but seeing was really bad and low on the horizon so didn't turn out real well. plus the light pollution here in the Washington, DC area sucks.

That’s cool nonetheless. I’d like to take a picture someday and have a blown up poster made. That be bad ass to hang on the wall at home or shop.

Curious if there are any Tele Vue Panoptic fans? Or Delos? Not quite there for the Ethos. Man, that’d be like a set of premium sliders for each eye piece!

That would be a cool hobby.
I'll take a look into some of this.
Did you or anyone else in the thread get any good shots of the total eclipse?

I remember when I was a boy my uncle got into it, and had a huge one, thing was like a big white canon and bigger than I was. But I'd imagine it'd be so out dated now, a set of binocs would be just as good haha.

Do you ever do any videoing thru yours, and capture meteor showers/shooting stars etc?

BTW, off topic q, is that you lumber jacking comp in the avatar pic?
I've always thought those chainsaws with 2cyc moto engines were awesome.
