I agree, they need to cut down the OLM refurbishment to next to nothing. IFT3 needs to basically go off without a hitch during ascent so there is no mishap investigation and mitigations implemented.

I have heard 2 schools of thought with Booster SFs. One is that they will only spin prime boosters from now on and the other is that they will static fire boosters at Masseys on the flame trench. Either way, booster and ship testing will move to Masseys sooner than you think. Dirt work for OLIT2 is already mostly completed and I expect to see pile drivers move in very shortly after IFT3.

I’m pretty sure they need an OLM to fire boosters(outer 20 engines get primed and spun by the OLM plumbing and hardware) and the flame trench is only for ships but we’ll see. Even just cryo testing of boosters is a significant reduction in closures. Given that they still SF all Falcons I think it’s too early to say they stop doing it for boosters and still iterating Raptors. I’d be happy if the flame trench is in use by July but a recent NSF broadcast put it much later. Testing at either site causes delays so it’s not an ideal situation regardless of where they do it. My preference would be to go full tilt at Massey’s. Finish there and then shift back there as much as possible to reduce road closures before testing cadence rises even more and also reduce the need to shut down progress on the new launch site ground work. Aside from Boca Chica the updates I’m waiting on are a turntable and assembly platform shipping to the VAB and transfer of crew dragon missions to the new Falcon tower so they can resume work on the KSC stage 0 at 39A. That remains the shortest path to a second launch facility unless they totally fubarred that site irretrievably.

They’re putting in the water wicks to control the water content now. It’ll probably be a few different stabilization methods(sheet piles, slurry, etc) in advance of even more different drilling/placement methods for pilings before we start seeing anything that will still be visible when they’re done. Right now it’s just a flat spot and they can’t get rid of pad B and the ship testing hardware yet so they don’t have free access to the entire area. When Massey’s is ready to rock that will change quickly.
