Looks like they should get a good show if my backyard right now is a judge of conditions.

I remember. I was only 11, but I remember. The unity and patriotism from back then was amazing and I miss it. I still feel that way personally, but I miss feeling it from others.

Going from 13 psi down to 5 isn’t something you want to hurry. They’re already on Nitrox to offgas most of the absorbed nitrogen but lowering the pressure will cause even more to seep out and the body needs that time to transport it to the lungs and exhale it. The body also needs to time for the change in pressure since the squeeze helps maintain blood flow to the brain instead of inflating your limbs. Sudden loss of cabin pressure has led to pilots passing out(notably Paine Stewart’s).

The ISS has been operational for decades so I was wondering why Polaris Dawn had to do over 40 experiments. Haven’t these been done before? What new tech could there be? This presentation answered my questions. SpaceX/Issacman are funding development of a corporate knowledge base on long- term living in space. Maybe they’ve already said this but I didn’t get it until this clip. Thoughts?

There is research to be done and we will make a new gun... o/~

Sorry my brain. But there's lots of limitations to the ISS - a lot of maintenance work, etc. If they could do everything they could, there'd be no room for science on New Shepard, etc. Plus more and different people to do research on. Plus upmass and downmass limits - during soyuz only, they couldn't bring down anything and only so much upmass on cygnus etc.

    Also, space hair is awesome.

I appreciated the attempt at neutrality. Red tape is a pain but Spacex has yet to actually be ready to launch at any time they’ve said they were while bashing the FAA for self inflicted delays. Sure, the vehicle was ready, but this time around the pad still isn’t and I’m betting the FAA will have some questions about both the change in flight plan and it’s possible abort modes as well as the actual catch risks. In the past the license was issued merely weeks after the previous flight anomaly work was completed by Spacex and turned over to the FAA for approval. Try getting a remodel approved that quickly. The current delay seems to be more about the deluge system and the responsibility of other agencies which the FAA does not control. Sure, the deluge starts as potable water but every SF and launch etches paint, mild steel, stainless steel, and concrete of various types from the surroundings so it doesn’t stay that way. Is it harmful? Maybe not but at least start from a position of honesty rather than misleading and then crying “foul”.
