I guess it would also necessitate cross country transportation of the capsules for refurbishment and relaunch. Is there any likelihood of polar orbits for space stations to orbit specific science?

 

Yes, cross country transportation for the capsules. I’m guessing it’s cheaper than having the banged up, partially melted trunks falling on houses, schools and orphanages

The polar orbit question will be interesting to see play out… The higher the inclination, the higher the exposure to radiation. It doesn’t get talked about much but there was a statistically higher occurrence of cancers among shuttle astronauts that flew higher inclination orbit missions.

 

Huh, it might end up being an orbit for short duration visits to set up or return results of longer duration experiments. Be interesting to see seasonal time lapses of the poles and auroras.
