If it was perfectly insulated/isolated, it would stay at its starting temperature for eternity, since heat could neither flow in or out.

I guess? Im definitely not asking about anything here on earth... again not even sure this specific scenario is a possibility?

Wish I had more knowledge to ask a more succinct question.

Google thermodynamics isolated system. You’ll find answers for some of what you’re asking, but in short a completely isolated system is almost impossible in reality.

I can't think of a place where it would be possible. There are three modes of heat transfer - convection, conduction and radiation. Convection and conduction are easy enough to isolate, but radiation is pretty tough to avoid.

I think I somewhat understand his question... and here's my rudimentary answer...

Pressurization. When the atmosphere in one area is higher than another it allows for temperatures to stay constant. This is why planes utilize pressurized cabins at higher altitude... and the ISS stays nice and cozy for its occupants.

That’s really not accurate. Pressure differential has very little effect on heat transfer. Planes utilize pressurized cabins so the crew and passengers don’t become hypoxic and pass out after takeoff and climbing to cruise altitude.

Not arguing... just read something about that is how we have a stable atmosphere is pressurization.

I would imagine probably somewhere in the universe exists the farthest point between any energy radiating objects. That would probably come closest, but even then...

Even then, radiation would still reach that specific spot and slightly warm up the isolated object.

The Antares isn’t designed for that.
SpaceX has successfully landed orbital class rockets for reuse (look them up on Youtube).
Blue Origins is also working on this but I’m not up to speed on their current capabilities.

Also, if anyone has a streaming device, the NASA channel has much more content that before and their live streaming has never been better..

    WATCH LIVE: STARLINK MISSION

SpaceX is targeting Monday, November 11 at 9:56 a.m. EST, 14:56 UTC, for the launch of 60 Starlink satellites from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. A backup launch opportunity is available at 9:34 a.m. EST, 14:34 UTC, on Tuesday, November 12.

This mission marks the first fourth flight of a Falcon 9 first stage and the first flight of a recovered fairing. Falcon 9’s first stage previously supported the Iridium-7, SAOCOM-1A, and Nusantara Satu missions, and the fairing was previously flown on Falcon Heavy’s Arabsat-6A mission earlier this year.

Following stage separation, SpaceX will land Falcon 9’s first stage on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. Approximately 45 minutes after liftoff, SpaceX’s two fairing recovery vessels, “Ms. Tree” and “Ms. Chief,” will attempt to recover the two fairing halves.

To watch SpaceX's live launch webcast, starting about 15 minutes before liftoff, or to learn more about the mission, visit spacex.com/webcast.

People like to bash Elon Musk, but I have to give him credit for starting multiple companies that tackle really difficult problems and succeed. Even if they fail in the long run, they've changed their respective games.

I remember thinking when I saw the first picture of Mr Steven that trying to catch fairings was nuts. And here we are.
