End goal is pulling in the alphabet boys as well, thats just not in the cards right now this soon. Gonna take a few more years of logistics to work that nightmare out.

No weapons in space ever, Article IV of the Outer Space Treaty says hell no to that.

A good majority of space ops is support, but there are a handful of missions that can be considered "tip of the spear" if thats what you're into. Gotta join up to figure out though :anonymous:

I want God Rods. I'd have dropped dozens on Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea already.

And one or two smaller ones in traffic just because.

Starship Troopers is still my all-time favorite. I describe it as a treatise on moral and civic responsibility disguised as sci-fi. Stranger in a Strange Land is a close second. I've read about 30, and loved them all in one form or another.

I also recommend David Brin's Uplift series. Really smart, funny, and extremely wide in scope and possible reality. Great stuff.

I love the Starship Troopers movies, and finally realized that they were written by one of my favorite scifi authors. Whooo boy, are the books different! I wish we had gotten movies closer to the books.

I personally love how we all had to read "Ender's Game" in high school and now 3 of my classmates are MQ-9 pilots.

    As always, a relevant XKCD:

"We live in a world where there are actual fleets of robot assassins patrolling the skies. At some point there, we left the present and entered the future."

I read a ton of sci fi as a kid and am working through much of them again. Some are as impressive as they once were (think Dune - the first one or two..) some aren't as impressive but I can still see how cool they were to a 13 year old me (think Gateway by Fredrick Pohl...).

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is sometime later this winter!! Good stuff! Classic.

    Tonight.
    https://www.space.com/spacex-jcsat-kacific-satellite-launch-webcast.html

“The Falcon 9 booster that SpaceX is using to launch the JCSAT 18/Kacific 1 communications satellite most recently flew a cargo mission to the International Space Station on July 25, 2019.”

Getting closer to the “rapid” part of the SpaceX business plan..

Edit: Successful launch and landing of the first stage booster for the fourth time. Satellite successfully deployed.

Can’t exactly say “WTF” in public, although a lot at Boeing are saying that in private.

It's a space station, not a black hole?
