    To the OP -

You have an '09 O/R 4x4 correct? You already paid for upgraded springs and shocks. I would run that suspension until it needed to be replaced. Otherwise you are wasting good money for not much return. If you had an SR5 I would have a different reply.

yeah i was planning on using spacers for now until my stock shocks were ready to be replaced for some good coil overs, but i want to go on off road trails in the mean time. what kinda damage am i looking at if i go trailing with spacers? oh and btw i dont think im going to take my truck on hard core trails, at least not yet.

Big tires, big lift, Lots of stuff's.
I'd go buy some 5100's and set them at 1.75 thats what I did and I wheel just about every weekend and I can go just as far on the trails as the 6inch lift guys. Ask the group we went wheeling with today I took the hardest route up one of the obstacles and the only other person who tried it was a first gen. A lift is not the saving grace for wheeling good tires and the right line will take you farther.

I have a revtek spacer lift.... Hate it, my suspension squeaks, it rides rough, my front suspension tops out, i go on dirt and have to crawl cause it feels like i'm on a washboard trails

Colin brought up a good point that I think was overlooked. With a spacer lift, you will have less down-travel on your shocks and can top them out easily when off roading.

I havent read the article yet, but i will.

I tried to like the spacers by saying its ok, your front wheel are suppose to leave the ground and have no travel when you hit a bump in the road or by saying my truck handles better cause it doesnt lean when i turn......boy was i blind, i shoulda waited for the 5100s to get back in stock instead of being impatient and get a spacer lift just so i could get my truck lifted.

WHATS THE POINT OF SPACERS!!!!!!!??????????? I can feel my suspension being torn apart!!!!!! Even if i take the rear block off ill probably need a new leaf pack cause im sure my weak leaf springs are bent to the point of no return. I bottom out soo much.

The point of spacers is a CHEAP way to lift your truck to accomidate larger wheels and or tires, if someone does their homework they will know there not buying it for its offroad performance there buying it to look bigger. A spacer lift will run you a few hundred, a coil over will cost you at least 1500 on a first gen, everyone knows they SUCK for offroad performance but if you dont take your truck offroad and dont sweat the little squeeks and stiff ride and stuff that comes with a spacer lift, then a spacer lift is a cheap way to get the look you want.

the 5100's where my first choice but then i found out they where out of stock, which gave me a good reason to move onto the next best thing. i might be going LT when i move back to vegas in 2 months.

Hey if i buy some coil overs like the 2.5 or the 2.0 fox ones on the following link, do i have to get new upper control arms as well, like the TC?

A poor decision, indeed. You will most likely regret every minute of it, that is if you decide to install the lift. I would highly recommend at least going with some 5100s up front. The cost difference between the 5100s and a spacer lift are negligible and the performance difference is drastic.

No, although if you raise the truck over 2.5 inches, you will need new UCAs in order to keep the alignment in check. Some will say you need them at anything more than 2 inches of lift, but you can get away with it up to 2.5.

yeah i decided im NOT going to install them. i wanna get some fox coil overs but ill probably get the 5100 because of the $$$. now im worried about how to get rid of my lift. the best i can hope for is that 4 wheelparts will let me return it and get store credit.

ohh i see i have not understood why people got them up until now. do they give you the ability to have like a 3.5" lift?
