Sorry if this has been beaten to death but i did a little bit of searching but didnt find what i was looking for. Ok, i just got a 03 tacoma double cab 4x4 and it has a spacer up front and an add a leaf in the rear so my questions are if i wanted to get new shocks for it but still want to keep the spacer and AAL what shock would be best for that amount of lift. I was thinking 5100's set at 0 or factory height. It has the blue Tokico shocks and struts as of now but the ride is terrible especially in the rear (it feels like it has no flex at all). i like the stance it has now but i really want a smoother ride. Will putting new shocks and struts help?

AFAIK, you can't keep the spacers in the front with the 5100s. New shocks all around will make the world of difference.

so do i just get shocks and struts as if i didnt have no lift at all or do i get longer ones? so i would have to get the 5100's for the rear only and the fronts would have to be something else? sorry im kinda lost here.

    whats AFAIK?

    *As far as I know.

I think you can still use the 5100's with the spacer, but you cant preset the coils to anything but '0'.

if you have more than 2" of lift in the back, I'd go with the 5150's

You can set the 5100s up front from any where between 0-3", so you can lose your spacers up front. As for the rear, you'll probably need some extended shocks because of the AALs I think.

that was my original plan until i read in here that if you go full height which is 2.5 i think with the 5100's you would need to put in new UCA's (upper control arms im guessing) or would it be ok to go max height without any other modifications?

I mean if i can get the 5100's and leave it at "0" and keep the spacer up front and the 5150's in the rear and keep the same stance/height i wouldnt mind that either. hopefully that'll smooth out my ride.

It probably will. If youre running spacers already and dont need new UCA's, you wont need them if you switch them for the 5100s, they get the same height (aprox)

loose the spacer because the billy will give u the height with ur stock coils or aftermarket. anymore then 2in lift u wont get ur alignment to specs unless u get ucas
