just got home with my 2018 trd sport. Can someone tell me why people are against the hubcentric spacers? I don't want to have to replace front wheel bearings in 40,000 miles.
aren't the tires/mounting surfaces the same distance?
Can someone tell me the math, not just "they worked for me"..
    thanks in advance

I’m not a fan of having to re-torque anything every 5k miles. A tire rotation is one thing but if I have to check the torque on something that’s bolted to my wheels... no thanks. Get a decent offsetted wheel and call er good.

A 1" spacer and a wheel with 1" less of backspacing will affect your bearings the same way. The difference will be that there are two sets of lugs to keep torqued and a greater likelihood of something going wrong with those lugs.

but loved the stance of wheels.. 200 miles on the new 18, and already talking mods. here we go..lol

Well, at least you’ll be happy to know that the bearing is a lot easier to swap on newer tacos. They’re bolted to the spindle instead of pressed in. Wheel off, rotor/caliper off, cap off, axle nut off, four bolts on the bearing, and that’s it. Especially quick and easy if you replace with a pre-pressed hub and bearing assembly.

I don’t think so, should be same bolt pattern and hub size still.

Not sure what year this changed, I think it was 2011 and up. So some 2nd gens have bolt on’s. Otherwise I’d imagine you’d have to swap out the spindle to retrofit.

I just took my 1.25 spacers off when I put on new wheels. Put the spacers out on craigslist. They are just two months old. Look almost new. The new wheels are a 0 offset, so the spacers were just not needed. Put on the MB KOs. Love the look. No pictures to post as yet but will soon.
