Guess I'll throw the tires on. If they rub I'll add the spacers. I'll have them on hand just in case.

Well your not doing a spacer lift so no need and honestly that topic always goes south here. Wheel spacers like I said will put some more wear and tear on your wheel bearings, make sure they are hub centric and check torque often.

Are you talking wheel or coil spacers?

I'm talking wheel spacers. Which are fine.

    Coil spacers. Not so much.

There is nothing wrong with wheel spacers offroad though, its the same thing as wheels with proper backspacing just don't get bad spacers or lug centric

Looks like someone doesn't know how to install wheel spacers.

I can find pictures of destroyed wheels due to loose lug nuts too. And cheap wheels. Does that mean people shouldn't use wheels?

So make sure it's E rated?

E rated are better off-road, more tire/ply/rubber, so you can deflate to increase your tread footprint without sacrificing resistance from getting punctured, etc. Of course its a trade off with mpg/on road handling. But everything in life is. I run my 265/75r16 E rated KO2's and still achieve 18-21 mpg consistently, no complaints here.

Yep. I've run them on anything from rock crawlers to high hp track cars.

The ones smitty posted were either cheap or poorly installed.

Get bora or spidertrax wider than an inch. And you'll be good.

E rated is overkill for this vehicle weight from my experience. It will kill your gas mileage on road and will ride rougher as well. Heavier tire = more rotational mass. I've run E rated and C rated tires in off and on roar mid-sized trucks. I recommend a C rated tire. E rated is good if you are doing heavy rock crawling with a ton of additional weight on your truck. Proceed as you will.

Spacers are a shortcut and the truck components are not designed to operate optimally with wheel spacers. Proceed with caution.

    Unsubbed.

I like smitty but his advice in here is a bit off. Take it from myself (owned 6 of these trucks) and others who have had a few been here awhile who have built some.

Hubcentric spacers and torque and retorque regularly. Since the ko2s don't come in C rated 16" your E rated are more than fine and I've had both the C and E rated on my 16 and now 17 both get same mpg, I'd rather have the extra ply. Post pics when armored up!

Went to a 265/75//r16 load range e from stock 265/70r16. Not a big difference in accelerating or mpg.

I'll take the extra protection over mpg

Not going to be the same w/285 I think.

Question, i'm running the stock 265/65/17 , i put a 3in suspension lift on the truck and was thinking on getting 285/75/17. The website i want to buy from says it will "fit". But I'm unsure. I have no experience with wheel spacers. Help
