So I need to put spacers on my 2014 access cab. They are for my new vision d window rims 16x8 -12offset... they are hitting the calipers (my fault for not researching enough) so I was looking through a bunch of threads and found a user who explained everything really really well ... he used the same rims and put 1.25” spacers on his to make it work. My only concern is the main studs and the lug nuts to hold the spacers on. Will the studs fill the lugs nuts threads completely or will it only fill half of it ?? Any help or info is much appreciated.

Spacers such as spidertrax comes with hardware to mount the spacers to the rotors. Your wheels will mount to the spacer studs. It's a tapered fit so you are fine.

I’ve ran spacers before on previous vehicles I know how they work. My concern is the lug nuts holding the spacers on to the main studs. Tacoma’s wheel studs are shorter and I don’t want the spacers being held on only by half of the threads of the lug nuts

download.jpeg.jpg The spacers lug openings are tapered and the nuts are acorn shaped. Should be a non issue with the threads.

I think there is some confusion in the confusion. @Wattapunk is correct.

To clarify let’s go over everything. Spridertrax 1.25” spacers are not the cheap 1/4” spacers that simply fit between the hub and the wheel.

Spidertrax 1.25” bolt on to your existing studs using the hardware it came with. The Tacoma studs are more than enough as the lug nuts that came with the spacers will completely engage with room to spare. The entire lug nut and all of its threads will be engaged and you will see some of the stud sticking out of the top of the nut.

From there the bigger issue is the aftermarket wheels and their accompanying lug nuts engaging the spidertrax studs. While the spidertrax studs are roughly the same length as the Tacoma’s, most aftermarket wheels only allow 4-5 threads of engagement. You have 2 options, replace the studs on the spacers for something longer, or get ET lug nuts.

OP, are you confusing the spidertrax with these spacers?

No no I’m not confused I definitely don’t want the plate style lol. Last time I had spacers on my Tacoma (1.5”) I took them off because I needed to get longer studs. The reason being was the main studs only went into half of the lug nut.

I think at this point we can only assume either your studs were incredibly short for some reason or the 1.5” spacers you had were terribly designed.

Are you the sole owner of your truck or did someone own it previously? Do you remember what brand the 1.5” spacers were?

You absolutely should have no issue using Spidertrax 1.25” spacers on a Tacoma with stock length studs.

No it’s mine I’ve done everything to it. I just think the spacers were an off brand. I have a set of 1.25 on the way. Thanks guys

I have no option but spacers right now. Need bigger tires ASAP didn’t realize that eventually 12.5 wide is the only option after 33’s and my 5.29 gears already came in. Are the 1 1/4” enough to burry my studs on stock hub? Just don’t want to have to cut them. Should probably just go take a wheel off and measure myself but if anyone knows it would be appreciated!

Spidertrax 1.25” cover the stock studs no problem

Edit: also found this if you wanted a smaller spacer

That’s what I thought until I tried actually finding them. Went to the 4 closest shops around me the best I found was 35/11.5 Nitto muds for 360 a piece

Amazon and Walmart have some good options. I’m looking at the Kenda Klever 35x10.50 right now they’re $200 a tire with good reviews. They’re a RT tire.

The wider the wheel spacer the more that cutting is required.
