this is what I have, plus the 2 key fobs with keys in them, this key here pictured only works on the driver door, glove box and tailgate, it will not start the truck, the dash display says use the key to push the start button but it does nothing

How hard is it to install the pop and lock? I assume not difficult if it’s plug and play. 30 mins?

I watched a few YouTube videos and was no more than 1 hour. Just some climbing under the truck.

All models without smart key use typical external cut keys and the same key works for everything (door, glovebox, ignition, tailgate).

2016 models with smart key have an inverted cut key in the smart key which works in the door and glovebox with a separate external cut key for the tailgate. Ignition is electronic push-button only.

2017-2019 models with smart key have an inverted cut key in the smart key which works for everything excluding ignition (door, glovebox, tailgate) and a spare inverted cut key which also works for everything excluding ignition. Ignition is electronic push-button only.

Just like losing your key for any car.

I have a MT so no push button start. I had a locksmith cut me a key that mechanically works the driver door, glove box, tailgate but not ignition for $6Cdn. I also got a spare key that in addition to above, has the electronics to operate the ignition for $105Cdn but it has no ability to remotely lock or unlock the truck doors....just another great reason to own a MT.

My 2003 didn’t have a lock on the fuel filler door. Mine was an SR5 2X4. I bought a locking fuel cap for it.

Sorry, I wasn't exactly super specific. It wasn't used on all models for all years on the first generation Tacoma.

1995-2000 all Tacomas have the locking fuel lid, 2001-2003 only the step sides have the locking fuel lid. 2001-2004 non-step sides do not have a locking fuel door.
