    Clazzio seat covers,
I read a previous post that one member said his spare tire's sidewall had been damage. Being anal as I am, with 1,200 miles on my Off Road, I dropped the spare tire this morning.

    Photo 1 ... evidence of gouging ... see across the white lettering ... 1/16" - 1/8".

Photo 2 ... "stop" ... two prongs ... drops about 2" from the frame ...

Photo 3 ... 4 lb. hammer and it is just about even with the frame ...

Photo 4 ... tire back in storage position ... is very secure against the frame ... not touching the "stop"

its fine. those are just imprints from the tire being against the supports.

    Clazzio seat covers,

The letters (both the ones shown and the ones totally opposite) themselves have been "shaven" down .... 90 degrees out from them are the frame cross member imprints ... those I can deal with ...

Normal. Been driving tacomas for 23 years. Just make sure to snug but not over tighten.
No need to bang the supports flat. They give the spare lateral rigidity. You need that instead of complete upward hold, especially offroad when you are in 4x4.

I've also driven thousands of miles on a tire just like that with 0 sidewall issues.
