I get you’re concern there but IMO that guy isn’t giving us all the facts. Where he had it mounted there’s not a lot of room for a tire in the first place. The tire wouldn’t be able to lean up against the side of the bed. Hi was it attached to the rail in the first place. What kind of driving did that guy do? The list can go on. My bracket is designed to hook over the top of the bed and transfer the load to the top and not just to the rail.

Thanks for the reply! You make great points. For all we know he took his truck on some sweet jumps causing the stress. However, I'll assume he gave us enough information for a reasonable assessment. Especially because I've heard of others having this problem. I'd personally like to see a foot that comes down putting some of the weight in the bed of the truck and possibly a wider mounting point. I have a leer shell and can't use the feet so it still feels dicey to me. That said, I'm super excited to see someone fabricating something for this. If I see plenty of people using this without issue you will likely get an order from me.

I really like your spare tire mount, you did a great job on it. I would like to purchase one, but I am not sure how to contact you.

I messaged him on ig about a month or two ago. He said at this time he’s not making these. Wouldn’t rule it out that he won’t make them again in the future but for now might be sol

yeah. This looks like the best design. The one other fabricated one (bash fab?) appears to require PITA lug bolts vs this one with a convenient spin handle…

    Look at build!
I can make you a spindle style instead. The lugs aren't hard to do though once you initially get it all setup. The hardest part is where you decide to mount the tire. Bedrail against cab is gonna be a pita spot to mount any tire. The lugs allow you to use locking lug nuts that match your existing wheels and also has a spot to run a cable lock as well if desired. In theory giving you two theft deterrents.
