bringing up an old thread.......i have a 10 dcsb. when i got the truck (2nd owner) it did not have a tpms in the spare. so i bought one and had it installed and was told that my truck would only take 4 tpms sensors in the computer. i even talked to a guy in my local group who is a toyota mechanic at the dealership and he said that it wont take a 5th sensor.

is there any way to get a 5th one programmed to the truck? itd be nice to not have to clone and reprogram every time i want to do a 5 wheel tire rotation.

No, last Tacoma to have a Sensor in the Spare was around 2008 or 2009.

    Correct. Oh well.
Also found out my full size spare has a plastic valve stem and the rest are aluminum.

Not really a big deal but it upsets my OCD on a regular basis.

One bad thing about my 2007. Stupid sensor in the spare tire; otherwise I'd toss my stock one but have to keep it due to the sensor. Had two go bad at $90 a pop from Toyota. Very annoying. $350 to have aftermarket wheels and tires broken down, rebalanced and mounted - all to replace two stupid sensors that really don't do a damn thing for the truck. It's not like I can't tell if a large 10 ply off-road tire is going flat.
