    No, not really, in fact, I was very respectful. I immediately sent them the printed and web-listed specs (of my VIN) for my Tacoma, which showed a "full-size spare tire & wheel". I sort of forced them to agree that Toyota and Gulf-States failed to deliver the truck according to their own specs. (And I also communicated w/ Toyo USA and GSD the deficiencies, which they both ignored.) But fortunately, the dealer had some dignity and made good on the listed specs. It's the only problem I mentioned to them, and their cost to remedy the donut spare was very low. In the end, they even gave me a gift card to apologize.
    In the TW thread about this, it was discussed that "full size" may not mean what it used to. According to Toyota USA marketing, full-size may now simply mean "being the same diameter." Redefining the meaning of everyday words has become all too common.

    I just had Toyo Open Country in 265/70-18 put on mine.
    We tested a near new used AT 265/70-18 full size on the factory spare rim and it fit with plenty of clearance.
    Problem solved.
    The spare tire looks like a slick and is a little insulting considering the cost of these trucks and how cheap Toyota is probably getting factory mounted tires.

    I agree. 'Good idea to use the donut wheel, but with a real substantial tire. 'Don't know why, but I guess I assumed both the donut tire & wheel were inferior. I was surprised that the tire diameters are very close;
    265/70R17 vs. 265/65R18
    Diameter (inches) 31.61 31.56
    Just one concern, with a 265/65-18 tire aren't you pushing the limits a bit with the narrow (donut) rim width? Of course, it's just a spare anyway.
