I run the hose through the slots in the wheel and attach it to the valve stem without lowering it. I do have to get on the ground on my back under the truck.

But it is probably a good idea to partial lower the spare occasionally to make sure it isn't frozen up and inoperable when needed.

I reversed mine.....so the stem is facing towards the ground. Makes it a snap to check and or top up when needed.... Go Team TW!

Drop the tire, flip it over, lift it back up. Now the valve stem is pointed down so you can easily check tire pressure.
I would also point out that if a shop works on your vehicle they will not bother to air it up if the valve stem is not accessible, I for one only air up customers spare tires if the valve stem is pointed down.

You should have a yearly task to drop the spare, clean it up, check for damage, and then air it up. Also a good time to clean and lube the chain mechanism.
It really shouldn't lose more than 4-6 PSI in a year if the bead and valve stem have a good seal.

Too much extra work. I run over my arm a few times to transform into Flat Stanley so I can reach up & over for spare tires inflation.

Easy peasy…might have to pay some ER fees-E.
