Does anyone know if a LT265/75R16 will fit under a 2021 Tacoma double cab or will I need to bed mount it?

It will fit but you'd also be fine just sticking with the stock spare tire size.

No, it came with LT245/75R16. I have replaced them with Firestone DESTINATION X/T OWL LT265/75R16 but now I want to replace the spare tire. Looks very tight under the truck.

Thank you both for your input. I may stay with they stock spare especially since I just priced out the new tire.$300 for a spare tire. Not worth it since I am not doing any real serious off-roading. Maybe a good used tire in the same size just so I don't have the wobbles if I have to put the spare on.

Contrary to other answers - yes, it will, with very minor work. I have General Grabber AT/X's in LT265/75-16 and to fit, I had to hammer a bit the two L brackets that locate the tire. 5 minute job to bend them a bit and the tire fits nicely. Another solution proposed by others, is to deflate the spare to fit, and, assuming you carry a compressor, inflate it to target pressure before you mount it.

It will fit no problem. I made my 33” fit under there pretty easily. When you winch up the tire, pull it towards the hitch receiver.

So if you get a flat, you could run three 265/75/16 tires and one spare 245/75/16 tire without damaging anything?

Yes, both diffs are open until you lock it with the switch. Stay out of 4WD on pavement/high grip surfaces with mismatched sizes on to avoid a possible situation where the transfer case sees different driveshaft speeds.

Well fortunately since I have an SR5 I don’t have to worry about the locking rear diff lol

Awesome, that info saves me a ton of money. I was about to buy a new 265/75/16 spare tire and wheel because I always thought you couldn’t mismatch sizes on the truck.

That size fit with out any mods on my 2011. If you are in SoCal I would give you my old spare. Never used Cooper AT3 265/75/16 SL load rating. No I will not ship it.

I have a 265-70R17 which is the equivalent size under my truck with no modifications. It will fit fine.

this was found on FB marketplace for $40, was never on the ground..... also tons of used tires on ebay shipped to you for 100 or less with the tread depth listed and you might find the specific model to match, since you have a wheel, save the hassle of searching locallythumbnail_IMG_8058.jpg
