Doesn't really apply to us. We use copper plugs rated for 30k. I've always replaced the iridiums in my other cars around 60k just because I don't like them sitting in the engine for all those years.

I have a Corolla. The Corolla has the iridium plugs and the dealer told me 120,000. I waited until 105,000 and changed them. I asked for them to save the plugs so I could inspect them. Never again will I let them go that long. Maybe 50,000 or 60,000, but not 120.000. The plugs were all worn to more then .070 gap. That is way too much.

I am just about at 30,000 on my 2012 TRD Off Road 4 X 4

So I just want to keep my truck at peak, so I guess change em?

On another note, technical writing is an art form that seems to be dying fast.

My 5lug base comes stock with Iridium. I do know that they burn hotter, I have never seen it state that it last longer though:confused:. Sounds like the article author was a bit confused as to what he was reading as well. I will go max 30k before replacing. Speaking of which I need to change my plugs with my next oil change.

I changed the plugs in my wife's 4 cylinder Corolla at ~125k, and they still looked great and were within the specified gap. I was honestly disappointed, thought I'd see some significant wear after that many miles.

The plugs in my V6 Tacoma still look great at 30k. Didn't get around to changing the plugs this time until 37k, and all of them were still gapped correctly.
