I just did a spark plug change today.... Thanx a lot to Chris4x4's instructional post (helped a lot)....

Took me about 1 1/2 hours, going slowly and making sure everything was done just right... Not a big deal at all..... had more trouble disconnecting the wire to the coil on the left front (very short wires)..than anything else...

I noted a funny thing though..... Denso plugs on the right bank and NKG on the left bank... OK.. I knew that was gonna happen... BUT.... I've got 80,000Kms (50K miles) on the original plugs and they seemed good yet... nice color, not burned up, etc....

All the Denso's gap had grown up to .046 in. and all the NGK's were all at .056

What a difference.... I'd suggest from that..... that the Denso's are the better plugs for out 1GR V6 engine.... Do you agree...????

I could not find Denso's or NGK up here in the great white north and decided to try the Champion double Platinum plugs.... I guess I'll see how they perform....

The originals were great to 80,000 kms....

You could have got the plugs at your dealer.

I don't do the "dealer" thing... they are a bunch of crooks and I'll not support their evil ways.... I'll buy the vehicle and then they can eat my shorts.....unless I've got to take it in for a recall (on their dime)....
    hehe

I'll post later RE: the Champion plugs.... who knows?... Maybe they will work.

OK...1 week later.... The truck runs great....(it did before too).. I think I gained a little on the throttle, when I punch her....She connects quicker now...

I bet the big gap in the old plugs slowed her down...ever so slowly that I did not notice...

She has more "get up & go" now.... I'll check the MPG also....

    Over...
