I'm sorry. Did I say you or I was offended? I said you might be right. I do apologize if I came off different then how I wanted to. That's the problem with text. I honestly don't know the answer to your question. I am only reporting the issue I encountered to help others. I'm not the first to bring this up though.

    Looking at the pics
What do you think? I think they all look the same. Are they crushed appropriately I don't know. I guess I could take and easy one out on the passenger side to compare. That's really the only way to answer your question.

Now I’m checking mine this weekend. Maybe the spark plug monkey was off his game that day.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been kind of going over everything preventative wise, I’ll be sure to check on mine.

I have still have a rough idle when fully warmed up. I need to check the rest of my plugs, been in the shop three times now for three coils replaced, a Plenum replacement and also a loose plug.

What is the torque on the plugs? 13ft lbs? I want to pop the hood today and just check all of them myself.

Hey OP, what were the original symptoms that led you to check the plugs? Just a miss at cruising? I've always had a surge/shudder around 50-55 mph that's intermittent. Not constant enough to call a vibration. Significantly worse on hotter days, A/C on full blast, or the truck is warmed up. But it never misfires bad enough to throw a code. And I only have 20k miles on the clock.

Edit: Yes I know you gave a quick highlight reel to start the thread but I was hoping you could elaborate on the problems! Thanks

Ever since I had the truck it wasn't very smooth while cruising. I had a slight sputter while cruising most noticeable at RPMs lower than 2000 RPMs. No codes ever thrown. Seemed to run fine when accelerating and towing. I've always had the surge, as you described, when accelerating from 15 to 35 MPH. I believe that's the crappy transmission shift points. The tunes I applied minimized to practically eliminated that. I have the Nexus tune which I highly recommend.

I just think it might be in people's better interest to pull the coils on the passenger side just to do an initial check. Takes about 10 minutes.

They are only designed to torque once. If you take them out to check them. They will not seal again (as the washers are now crushed).

I see 6 Denso plugs. Doesn't Toyota still use 3 Denso and 3 NGK like they did on the 2nd gens? If they still do, that means someone changed the plugs after the factory did.

Did mine yesterday. I have 20K miles and pulled a few out. They looked still fairly new but I replaced them. Never had an issue before, I run 93 octane, KDMAX Pro tune and plugs looked great. Anyhow I used new OEM plugs, drives and feels no different than before. Mine runs and drives perfect but I wanted to be sure. I have a JLT catch can I have been running for a few years so maybe a catch can helps!

Wow 20K and no issues and you still changed the plugs? As long as you have piece of mind now, it's all good.

Really I only wanted people who think they might have an issue I had to take out their coilpacks and look for staining. If all is good and plugs aren't due for changing then put it back together and keep on rollin'!

If the coils are clean no need to remove the plugs
