I just did a plug swap in my '08 DC TRD. Read the "how-to" article on this site, and no problemo. Only question is, the plugs I removed (usual 3 Denso, 3 NGK) were gapped at .055. Now, I know that the gap can increase over time/usage, but I didn't think it would increase that much... Seem odd to you???

I reinstalled my new Denso's (all 6) at the suggested .041 (they were actually gapped perfectly from Toyota). Truck runs great. Just curious if anyone else noticed their original plugs out around .055, and if so, why do they suggest .040 - .044 when they come .055?

Thanks again for the awesome write-up on the site. Made the swap much quicker!

ODO reads 60,000 km, so I was 10,000 over the suggested 50,000 time frame.

I think mine were original but I found out that they weren't the 100K plugs.
Should have been replaced much earlier.

    They were worn to .074
Truck ran fine but new plugs did make a difference.

When I did my plugs @30k miles the NGKs had worn to a .052" - .055" gap while the Densos where .048" - .050".
