Is the socket stuck on the new spark plug? Hate it when that happens. Might have to remove the spark plug and socket together. Then either remove the rubber insert, or slightly hog out the rubber insert.

I remember having to take a coathanger wire, bend the end of it at 90 degrees or less, slide it in the hole where the extension goes, and with some jiggling and pulling the socket came loose. from there I grabbed it with one of these. When I put it back in I took the standard rubber piece out of the socket and used a short piece of fuel hose so the socket just reached the threads without getting stuck on the plug (enough so it gripped it firmly and wouldn't strip.)

They make spark plug sockets that are permanently attached to an extension for this. They’re nice if you do enough of these.

Other than that I’d probably do something with a washer inside tbr socket and some string..

Put your extension in there and take the plug back out. Tape your socket on the extension with some electrical tape and then put the plug back in.

Yup this one is the easiest in my opinion. You can wrap some duct tape/electrical tape around the extension and then jam it into the socket to "catch it" in the plug well, then it should come out without falling off

First time i did my plugs I read on here to make sure you tape the socket to your extension, and if multiple extensions, tape them together too! I'm glad to have read that!

I just wipe the plastic insert with dielectric grease on a q tip before I start
